Intro to Hide Tanning - Weekend Workshop

Join me, Maggie OIckle for a weekend of working outside and with nature to learn the process of the traditional skill of leather making, through a hands on instructional learning experience in a beautiful location! Learn the basics of the traditional ways of leather making as we help guide you through the process from start to finish!! Participants are also invited to bring their own hides! :) Sherebrooke Lake Campe hold a magic in itself and am super excited to be able to invite you there for the first annual hide tanning wreekend! We will be working with three different types of hides and you are encouraged to even bring your own along to start processing as you learn!! ** Accomodations of shared cabins, and meals are included in this event! You will need to bring your own blankets and pillows for in the cabins. There are washing stations but no showers available for the weekend. ** Lunch/supper is provided Saturday along with breakfast/Lunch on Sunday! ** You will need to dress for the weather and the work! It's not the cleanest job to do so make sure you have old clothes or some coveralls or rain pants! The hides could be damp and helps keep you more comfortable as we go if you are comfortable, warm ad dry! ** Bring your own snacks as well as anything you require to keep you comfortable! Fridge space is available in the main lodge. $300 per person tax in, $100 deposit is required upon booking, the rest payable the day of the event.
